Alice M. Thomas-Roberts

Protocol and Etiquette Consultant

"Bringing out your best through training".

In 1997, Alice started a Protocol and Events Management business; being the first person in Grenada to provide formal training in Protocol and Etiquette, and also the first to provide conference and events management services. Her company also  coordinated tourist weddings for several years.

As Programme Director of Protocol Caribbean, Alice facilitated seminars, workshops and personal coaching sessions on Protocol and Etiquette, Events Planning, Professionalism in the Work Place and Customer Service.

Her experience involved presentations and training sessions in Tortola (British Virgin Islands), Miami, St. Vincent and St. Lucia; and of course, in her home island of Grenada.

For the second time in her career, Alice is the Chief of Protocol for the Government of Grenada. She was previously Chief of Protocol from the early 1990s to the mid 1990s, while concurrently being head of the Policy and Research Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. After this, she enjoyed a one year stint as the Clerk of the Houses of Parliament of Grenada.

Prior to returning to the Government Service in 2009, Alice’s employment included being Programme Director of Protocol Caribbean and Executive Director of Grenada Hotel and Tourism Association. All career experiences contributed to her knowledge and understanding of Protocol, Etiquette and International Courtesies, areas in which she continues to provide training, at this time, especially to staff of Government institutions.

Alice is the author of two books:  Protocol and Etiquette for Caribbean People: Etiquette in Communication and  Protocol and Etiquette for Caribbean People: Basic Diplomacy and VIP Courtesies.

A graduate of the University of the West Indies and the University of Oxford, she is also a member of Protocol and Diplomacy International – Protocol Officers Association (PDI-POA).

Her valued principle is to give of her best  in whatever she is involved. This has borne fruit in the awards she received while in the Tourism Industry for ‘Excellence in Communication’ and ‘Executive Director of the Year’ (2005).
